Vanguard Login Security Code not being sent

Hi Bogleheads,
Just today, I am experiencing a problem with logging onto Vanguard.
In the past, on some occasions, I received a message stating, "Check your phone, we sent you a security code ..." and then I would receive a phone call with the computerized voice and security code.
Today, no call backs ... so no security code ... after several attempts. Anyone else experiencing this. Any work arounds. I am hoping that someone at Vanguard HQ monitors this forum for customer service issues and will seek a way to fix this,

I have experienced this on several occasions.
I have had to reset my password 3 times this year because it was no longer recognized. Other times it works again later.
About a month or two back on a very turbulent market day. V, TD, and ML all told me i needed to reset my password. Then after the market closed all three accounts worked again with the same passwords.

If you are having a technical issue with Vanguard Group, try contacting Vanguard Group. This is not a technical support contact for Vanguard Group, and there is little sense in hoping someone from Vanguard Group will read a thread on this website someday.
If your phone does not receive messages, consider using Yubikey instead.

Is it possible you have a kind of “do not disturb” activated such that calls and notifications are silenced?

On your phone, check to see if you are blocking any phone numbers or using a call/text blocking app that blocks calls/texts from certain incoming numbers. Vanguard uses an external company to send the validating security codes. That company uses multiple numbers that can change through time. They don't even necessarily use the same number in consecutive attempts. But they also may. The phone numbers they call from also are not necessarily unique to Vanguard. I've had codes from both Vanguard and my PNC Bank account sent from the same source.
In my case, I had blocked one of the numbers using my iPhone's call blocking feature at some point since I thought it was a spam call or text coming in. Therefore I wasn't getting the validation call from Vanguard. As soon as I deleted all blocked numbers on my phone it worked fine. The primary problem was that I had to delete a lot of blocked numbers because I didn't know which one Vanguard's service was using.

- As mentioned above, check your blocked call list. I once accidentally blocked someone (took awhile wondering why I hadn't heard from them till I figured out what was going on!)
- Did you try clicking Send another code? I've had occasion (on more than site) when no code appeared until requested a new code be sent
- Do you have more than one phone number? You can set both a primary and secondary number. When you click Send another code you'll get a choice to select which number to use and if a cell, whether to call you or text
- fyi....I just tried logging into my Vanguard account. Received code by text and logged in w/o problem

That's happened to me. I just ask them to send me another code. Once it took four tries over a five minute period but eventually I got the call and was able to login.

I've had this happen occasionally in the past. Never for an extended duration, and the cause wasn't clear. Often something would eventually break the logjam and they'd all come through later. When texting the codes doesn't work quickly enough, there's usually an option to try another way, and I'll have them call me with the number instead. The automated calls often work during times when the text messages don't.
However, I never had them call me automatically when a text message didn't go through -- only if I manually requested a call.

Thank you for your responses. I I had no blocked calls or any other peculiarities with my phone. Had requested "resend" code a number of times.
After a few hours, I tried to log in again and the code was sent and I was able to login into my account. So perhaps as others mentioned, there are occasional anomalies with the Vanguard system.

This happened to be off and on before I left Vanguard. Sometimes I would receive the code hours later, and it would make me think someone was trying to log into my account.

I use a YubiKey for 2FA, no call necessary.

If the "send another code" doesn't work, try logging out and then logging back in. That has worked for me when "send another code" did not work properly.
