All Mask locations in The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask (2024)

At the time of writing, The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask is close to an official release on Nintendo Switch Online’s Expansion Pack. Given that masks are the central theme of the game, it makes sense that some players would want to collect all of them. We’ve got a fully updated list right here! Please keep in mind that the mask requirements listed are only for the Nintendo 64 version of the game — some masks may be obtained in different ways in the Nintendo 3DS version.

Mask Locations

Counting transformation masks (Deku, Goron, and Zora), there are a grand total of twenty-four masks to find in Majora’s Mask. Please note that these transformation masks can’t be missed and are required for story progression — we’re focusing on the other, more easily-missed masks instead! Once you obtain all twenty-four masks, you can trade them in at the very end of the game in exchange for the Fierce Deity Mask. Neat! Here are all the locations you need to remember, sorted in alphabetical order:

• The All-Night Mask lets Link listen to Anju’s Grandmother’s stories without falling asleep. This, in turn, lets the player receive Pieces of Heart that they wouldn’t have been able to obtain otherwise. You can purchase the All-Night Mask from the Curiosity Shop on the final night for whopping 500 Rupees.
• The Blast Mask lets Link unleash an explosive attack. If he isn’t holding up his shield, he’ll take damage. You can obtain the Blast Mask by saving the old lady from Sakon in North Clock Town. All you have to do is attack him with your sword. You’ll receive the Blast Mask in exchange!
• The Bremen Mask allows Link to march in a parade with nearby Cuccos chicks. To obtain the mask, all you have to do is enter the Laundry Pool at night and talk to the man there. He’ll give you the Bremen Mask to keep.
• The Bunny Hood is an incredibly helpful mask, as it doubles Link’s movement speed. You’ll need the Bremen Mask to be able to obtain it. Head to the shed at the far end of Romani Ranch and use the Bremen Mask to march in a parade with the Cucco chicks. They’ll soon grow into adults, and you’ll receive the Bunny Hood directly afterward.
• The Captain’s Hat lets Link speak with the undead in Ikana Canyon. To obtain it, you have to awaken and defeat Captain Keeta in the Ikana Graveyard. This mask is technically sort of required for story progression.
• The Circus Leader’s Mask requires the Romani’s Mask, which we’ll detail a bit later on. Enter the Milk Bar at night with the Romani’s Mask and talk to the Zora manager inside. Transform into your Deku, Goron, Zora, and human forms and play the individual parts of a bigger song. Once done, you’ll receive the Circus Leader’s Mask as thanks.
• The Couple’s Mask only serves one specific purpose. When Link walks into the Mayor’s office wearing it, he will stop the ongoing argument and give him a Piece of Heart. This mask takes a lot of effort to obtain, though. We have a full guide on that right here.
• The Don Gero Mask lets Link talk to frogs. You can obtain it by playing the Goron Lullaby in front of the Goron Elder’s son. Afterward, use a Deku Stick to light all the torches in the area. From there, perform a Goron roll into the spinning chandelier to find a Rock Sirloin. Bring it to the entrance of Mountain Village and throw it to the Goron up on a cliff. You’ll receive the Don Gero’s Mask as thanks.
• The Garo’s Mask is required for story progression, as it lets Link enter the final arena, Ikana Canyon. You’ll need to beat the Gorman Brothers in a horse race using Epona.
• The Giant’s Mask is also required for story progression. It’s located within the Stone Tower Temple, and lets Link grow to a super size. You can find it after defeating a mid-boss before the end of the dungeon.
• The Gibdo Mask lets Link talk to Gibdos. You can obtain the Gibdo Mask by playing the Song of Storms inside a cave near the Gibdo House. Afterward, you’ll have to place a bomb outside of the house and sneak inside. From there, play the Song of Healing and you’ll restore the man to normal and receive the Gibdo Mask he was wearing.
• The Great Fairy Mask is one of the first masks you can obtain. All you have to do is fetch a stray fairy from Clock Town and then bring it to the Great Fairy in North Clock Town. Make sure you’ve reclaimed the Ocarina of Time before you try to do this.
• The Kafei Mask can be obtained from the Mayor’s office on the first two days. Talk to the woman inside and she’ll give you the Kafei Mask. We have no idea why she has a mask of her son on hand. Weird.
• Kamaro’s Mask is another example of a mask you can obtain early on. After becoming human again, exit North Clock Town and find Kamaro dancing on a bunch of rocks. Play the Song of Healing and you’ll receive Kamaro’s Mask in exchange. With it, you can grab a Piece of Heart in West Clock Town at night.
• The Keaton Mask is obtained during the quest that gets you the Couple’s Mask. For more information and specifics, check out our guide on said quest.
• The Mask of Scents can only be obtained after clearing the Woodfall Temple. Head back to the Deku Palace and west across some lily pads. Enter the cave and beat the Deku Butler in a race, and you’ll receive the Mask of Scents as your prize.
• The Mask of Truth totally lets you rig the dog racing minigame in Romani Ranch by letting Link receive messages from animals he is holding. To obtain it, you have to successfully defeat all 30 Gold Skulltulas in the Spider House.
• The Postman’s Hat is also obtained during the Couple’s Mask side quest. After you receive an express mail to Mama, take it to the post office and give it to the postman. He’ll head over to the Milk Bar, and right after he leaves, he’ll give you the Postman’s Hat.
• Romani’s Mask is obtained from Romani herself! You need to have blown up the entrance to Romani Ranch with a Powder Keg, which can only be done as Goron Link. It’s obtained after protecting the ranch from aliens on the first and night and then after helping Cremia deliver milk to Clock Town.
• The Stone Mask is located in Ikana Valley, and it causes him to become invisible to most enemies. You’ll need the Lens of Truth and a bottle containing any kind of potion. Using the Lens of Truth, spot an injured soldier near the Road to Ikana and then hand him the potion. You’ll receive the Stone Mask as thanks.
