Yep. Most Fed's are really cool and, if engaged as a fellow pilot(who has their own job to do), they generally respond by sharing their view of the 'industry' and what they're seeing/hearing from the FAA side. I hope I don't break my streak of good luck but my experiences have almost all been pleasant and educational. Who wouldn't want to know what ASI's are being told or witnessing? I mean, don't we both want the same thing? 'Safe Air Commerce'?

I always engage them in conversation too, because why wouldn't you? Generally talk about hobbies and interests and maybe their background unless they were ex Con or EAL (assume most of them have retired). I have never had a bad fed with the exception of a very well known FA fed riding to Dallas who nitpicked some stuff and was pretty rude. Turns out she was a well known quantity and the flight attendants thanked us profusely for jumping on the grenade since they had someone riding in their extra JS.

Kind of a BS comment about EAL. They were the vanguard of the industry until the troubles. Maybe you mean scabs. The two are not synonymous contrary to what youngsters think.

A lot of EAL scabs went to work for the Feds. That's what I meant. No offense to anyone who honorably survived that era.

We can alway just go out to the outmarker before turning in on visual at night, after all that's the way Air Tran did it and we all know they were a well oiled machine over there. If you don't believe me just ase one who is here now. I've flow with a couple here recently who even claimed that SWA would be out of business if SWA had not bought them. Yep you heard that right. They came in here and saved the airline. Maybe that is why we are having so many problems?

Anyone that had their financials back then, know its the other way around. The majority except one realize it was a good deal for them. Spare me wack. I'm not getting into it again.
